I have used atleast 3 washing machines in my time. But this Siemens IQ 300 is the only machine which has conked off just a few months after the warranty period. My last machine had lasted 9 YEARS! and to think that it was just a Korean company and not the fabled German precision Siemens.
I bought Siemens IQ 300 in Feb 2014. Almost 5 months after the warranty expired. in July of this year it springed a leak. A call out from service centre costed me Rs 800 ( an exorbitant amount) . The service guy said it needed a new Gasket as this one had a tear. ( I never had to change a gasket in two years in any of my previous machines) . It cost me Rs 2200 and a 2week wait and fitted on 04-08-16. ( What I thought funny then was that in order to change the rubber gasket the service guy had to open the entire front panel.) Now yesterday 18-09-16 the machine just stopped working! I called customer service and guess what .i had to shell out another 800 bucks for a cust service visit. The reason. its been 15 days more than 1 month window since the date of closure of the last call. And the nightmare was only just beginning. It seems the motherboard or PCB is broken and it costs Rs 9000 for replacement. Thats all.no repair nothing. Just shell out close to 10 grant. and its less than two and a half years since I bought this machine. So much for the German precision and Reliabilty. I really feel there is something intrinsically flawed in Siemens washing machines sold in India. I have to say even the Indian brands are more durable than this one
