During the booking process, I had raised multiple special requests—none of which were fulfilled. On top of that, the vendors harassed and threatened me.


We had booked packers and movers to send furniture to relatives, as we were relocating abroad. They promised the following:

  1. Complete assembly and disassembly of the furniture.

  2. Dedicated support throughout the process.

Both these services were crucial since the furniture was being delivered to elderly relatives who couldn’t manage the setup on their own. The salesperson assured us that these services would be provided. I also confirmed with the pickup team that they should only proceed if they could guarantee complete unwrapping and reassembly. They reassured me multiple times—at least five.


However, the team arrived late for pickup and behaved in an unruly manner. Shockingly, one of them even tried to stealthily steal a personal handbag, which I fortunately noticed and was able to retrieve from their personal items.


Later, they delivered the furniture around midnight—an odd hour when no NoBroker support was available. At that point, they informed me they would not unwrap or assemble any of the items and insisted I settle the final payment and mark the delivery as complete. I refused to provide the OTP, stating that I wouldn’t confirm completion without full service. They began threatening to take the goods back and tried to blackmail me into marking the service as complete in the app.


After some negotiation, they assured me they would fulfill the promises if I completed the transaction. Trusting them, I provided the OTP and completed the payment. Immediately afterward, they dumped all the goods and attempted to leave. Despite the late hour, we pleaded with them to help at least assemble the essentials, given the recipients’ age and limitations.


At this point, the main vendor—who had been speaking politely until then—called me and began abusing me. He switched from English to Hindi and a local language, using foul and threatening language. He claimed he would use his “contacts” against us.


Outraged, we insisted we only wanted the services that had been promised. In response, the vendor called the police under a false pretense, claiming the bed required complex machinery, even though only simple tools were needed. The police assessed the situation and took our side, instructing the workers to complete the job. Despite this, the team fled the scene.


The following day, I raised a complaint with NoBroker’s support team. While they initially showed some support, their tone changed once they realized the potential liability. They began speaking rudely and deflecting responsibility in an attempt to avoid accountability.


This entire experience was deeply distressing. We felt threatened and unsafe throughout, especially since the vendor’s team continued to flaunt their “influence” even in front of the police.
