The game took Filipinos by storm. Before the big boom, badminton was just a backyard game here in the Philippines, only a few clubs own a court specially made for the game. But now, badminton courts sprouted like mushroom. How did that happen? thanks to internet, people from all over created groups, clubs, forum discussions about battledore and shuttlecock, how the game was previously called. they scheduled regular monthly, weekly and even daily games, thus the need for more courts.

I was introduced to the game on may of 2003. I was previously playing tennis but due to lack of players wanting to play tennis, I switched to badminton. I was surprised I perspired more in badminton than in tennis, from then on, I loved the game. I am now playing badminton with passion. This sport is here to stay.
