I had visited CINEPOLIS along with family of four members in AUDI 7 for the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - 8:10 PM show on 30th-Oct-2016.
The Movie started on time after Trailers and Commercials, one the the add before the movie commenced was the Cinepolis add mentioning the best in class commercial theatres for movies(talking about the quality of High Definition picture & sound. After watching the add I was astonished that Cinepolis had such poor quality of picture and sound and talking so big about themselves.
I waited for the feature film to start and in the first two minutes I noticed that the picture quality of the Feature Film - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was equally bad as the Cinepolis add, However my point is not that I am comparing cinepolis add to that of the movie quality. There was some thing seriously wrong with the projector in the AUDI 7.
I continued watching the movie as I did not want to miss the movie, after 10 to 15 minutes of watching the movie my eyes started to hurt very badly and got a severe head ache due to the blurness of the image on the screen and lumens of the image was very poor as though the projector was played in eco mode or the lamp of the projector is coming to end.
I continued watching the movie till the Interval and called upon the duty manager and informed the same saying the picture quality is very poor and its hurting my eyes which has caused severe Head Ache.
I requested the Duty Manager to put the projector back to the normal mode thing that it could be the problem with the projector being in eco mode. It took me more than 15 Minutes to explain the issues that were there with the picture quality of the projector.
The Duty Manager said that Add after the Interval are playing with bad quality and wait till the movie start, I waited patiently for the movie to start and the left half of the screen the lumen was more brighter compared to the right half of the screen, which meant that the people on the screen were looking more fair then they were in the left of the screen and darker on the right half of the screen and also the images on the screen were appearing blur.
First the Duty Manager said that its the native content and can't be changed and there is also no option for the projector to be in eco mode or normal mode. I could not agree to the duty manager as my eyes and years could not go wrong.
I gave the duty manager two options either to put back the projector in Normal viewing mode or to take me to another AUDI where the same movie is playing so that we can compare the quality of picture.
I was taken to the Audi 1 / 2 not very sure and the same movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was played and the adds were playing before the movie had started then itself I immediately told he duty manager that there is nothing wrong in this screen as the depth of the image and the colours were bright and good, the lumens of the projector was good and projecting good quality picture, waited for the movie to start as that was the reference point for the duty manager.
Once the movie started with in the first two minutes I had showed the comparison of the of the same native content and how its was completely different from AUDI 7. The Duty Manager also agreed that there was something seriously wrong with the AUDI 7 Projector and the technical setting of the projector.
I appreciate the Duty Manager for accepting the fault and confirmed to me that there will be a refund which will be provided and kept his words and apologised.
There are couple of points that I need to make as a customer:
We pay a high price for the ticket and and get to see the bad quality of picture and sound due to neglence or not bothered as they think no one cares for what they are paying.
Or it is played in that format to save the lamp life of the projector.
If this is the attitude of CINEPOLIS who talks about the best commercial theatre in the world I am sorry to say it was the worst experience I had ever encountered in my life.
I WILL BE TAKING THIS EXPERIENCE OF MINE TO ALL THE LOCAL NEWS PAPERS AND THE DIGITAL MEDIA IN FULL SWING.
As there were 99% of the viewers who are paying the high price for the bad quality of picture and sound and thinking that its the best.
The truth has to come out.
