I disagree completely - but then, that is my opinion. As someone who works in advertising, is a mother and has worked with cricket players - this book struck an instant chord. Im all for serious reading, but once in a while you need a light breezy read like this - one which doesnt insult the reader ...either.Read More

Hi Hitesha Just stumbled across your review... I consider myself a fairly highbrow reader and yet I work in advertising .... quite a dichotomy, eh. But I absolutely loved Zoya Factor - for its unabashed Indianness and maybe also cos the milieu is so familiar to me. And by the way - Anuja is not i...n client servicing, she is Creative Director at JWT.Read More

Hey, great review. I love Aamir, and I was very disappointed with the last 20 minutes of the movie, so your review gives me some perspective on things - especially if Aamir himself has already said that this is a pure masala entertainer. Regards

Stumbled on this review now! Spent a good deal of my time in Cookie Shop when my husband I were dating. Sweet memories, if you'll pardon the pun!

was sent here by Ronnie. he assured me i'll love your writing... and he's not wrong. will add this to my list - though now i'm leading the kind of placid existence that may preclude my empathising entirely with this book.....

...was my (!) reasoning when coffee beanz first opened. Therein lies the rub... I had just had my first baby at this point, and remember, this was the pre cafe coffee day, barista era in cochin. I so wanted to go, that I begged and begged the hubby - not having any friends left in the state to ha...ng out with - to take me (us) there. But he wouldn't budge, cos it was a place a young cousin of his frequented and he felt it was just too frivolous place for us new parents (as opposed to hanging out types) to ever go to. A few months back, I finally found the time and the requisite friends to go with, and I did. Unfortunately, I had already lost my coffee joint virginity (if i may put it that way) to cafe coffee day and barista, so I wasn't too impressed. The sandwich I had was limp, and the hot chocolate was not chocolatey enough. (but I guess I deserve that for ordering a hot chocolate in a coffee joint). And since I dislike appams, well... Sorry this is turning out to be a mini revu. Very nicely written. (Yours, not mine.) Did you check out cocoa tree?Read More

People do crazy things for victory. Senna did too. What he did not do, is make victory look humdrum, pedestrian. Schumi did that, and in my book that is his greatest crime. Didn't see any passion. Glad to know you are one of those intelligent souls in the abm (anyone but michael) club. Regards..., ShailajaRead More

Goes for your revu, for the series and above all, johnny depp. Btw, abha - johnny depp always rocked - just see edward scissorhands or what's eating gilbert grape. Will have to see this on dvd.

but derserved I think. Asked for the dvd this weekend, but haven't got it yet. Am thouroughly impressed with your grasp of austen and her world. I read the book almost once every year, but I don't know if i could have done it the justice you have. A friend of mine had her first encounter with... it via B & P, and said, oh, it's such a done story. I had to explain to her that austen was the original, and others have been inspired by her. do you read georgette heyer by the way? And is the bbc miniseries (god bless colin firth) available on dvd? Just been on a Harry Potter reading spree. So came back and checked your revu. What I liked amingst other things, about order of the phoenix was how Harry is so clueless about Cho. And how Hermione has to decode everything she says and does for Harry! Made me think, I should give my better half ...an easier time with this whole feelings and relationship thing. It was very convincing! I just can't wait for book 7 to come out. You think Harry dies? Regards ShailajaRead More

Since I read one of your revus! Also, this movie marked my return to theatres after 4 long years! With kids in tow. And believe me, it was worth it. Can u tell me why none of the old writers on MS seem to be writing any longer? Regards Shailaja

Just saw your comment on my vernon god little revu. Don't log on to ms these days much. I must admit atlas shrugged was one of my favourite reads back when i was a self critical 16 year old. It was tremendously motivating. But that was then. One does move on. I still believe it's a nice book to ...read before you are 20. I like your writing style a lot, and the way you've torn apart the book. Don't see what all the fuss is about in the comments section! Regards ShailajaRead More

U a mallu? You can't have such an intimate knowledge of buses otherwise. I have actually chosen to walk 2 kms home from work everyday rather than hop on a bus. Still I get on it once a week jus to remind myself what it's like. Regards Shailaja
