Avoid Standard Chartered Bank for Home Loans. Review on Standard Chartered Bank

Donot take home loan from Standard Charetered Bank. I have had an horrible experience with them.

1. They change the terms and conditions almost every other month.

2. My interest rate has been increased by 3% in less  than 3 years. the maximum increase by any bank.

3. They have changed the part pre payment conditions twice in this duration. Making it quite difficult to foreclose the account without incurring heavy charges

4. They revise interest rate every 3 months

In nutshell, the worst. I have compared this my friends who have taken loans from other banks/HFCs

I feel if I had taken a loan from HDFC or ICICI, I would have been better off. Not sure what is the mechanism for redressal.

Please avoid StanChart. I have yet to hear from anybody who is satisfied with these people. They make things quite difficult. For every thing you have submit tens of documents and then wait for weeks to get a response.
