As somebody who loves off-roading, I had high expectations for the Royal Enfield Scram 411, but it didn't quite meet them. While its ground clearance of 200 mm and suspension travel of 190 mm suggest off-road capability, I found the bike lacking in many areas. The suspension setup feels overly stiff on rough trails. The kerb weight of 185 kg also makes it challenging to handle in tricky situations. When navigating steep inclines or loose gravel it is difficult to maneuver the bike. The bike’s torque delivery is decent but not as responsive as I hoped for off-road scenarios. At higher RPMs, the vibrations from the engine become more pronounced, which will progressively tire you out.
In addition, the lack of switchable ABS limits my ability to brake on loose surfaces. For light trails and dirt paths, it can handle really well, but it can't do serious off-roading.
