The Panchatantra consist of 5 parts, apart from a brief introductory narrative. Each of 5 parts revolve around a frame story, which further contains " emboxed" stories, sometimes 3 to 4 level depth.

1) First strategy- The Loss of Friend.
2) Second strategy- Gaining Friend.
3) Third strategy-Profit of gains.
4) Fourth strategy- Loss of gains.
5) Fifth strategy- Animal fables.
