I bought a Mitsubishi air conditioner on Feb 15 2018 for a price of$15, 545.70. It consisted of a 4 ton outside unit and 5 indoor units in separate rooms. This year March 2025 it wasnt keeping cool when all the units were operating at the same time. The technician checked it out and found it was low of refrigerant. Upon further checking it was determined that two of the evaporator coils had a leak. Most coils on an ac should last over 50 years unless being damaged. These units were not damaged. I had two coils in two different indoor units starting to leak at the same time. This does not make sense unless it was defective from the very start. Since they were all bought at the same time I am wondering when the other 3 will start leaking. They were still under warranty so they sent 2 new coils. Now to replace the coils alone in each unit it requires several hours of work. From what the technician told me, in the past Mitsubishi would replace the whole indoor unit when the coils fail. Now Mitsubishi only replace the coils and covers none of the cost of repair. Since they have to spend several hours replacing the coils it came to a total of$1400 to replace the coils under warranty. That is the cost I had to pay for warranty work. If the whole unit had been replaced it would have been much less cost for me. Mitsubishi is only looking out for their profits and dont care if these products are not built to last. Mitsubishi is only concerned about profits and only looking for the cheapest way to cover their inferior product. I would not recommend their product to anyone since I have found out how cheap they make their products and how they stand behind their products. I still have 3 more indoor units that will probably start leaking in the future. They will probably be out of warranty by then and so the price will probably be$2000. I have 3 more units that might fail and so I am looking to about$6000 to spend on the AC.
