Penny Press distributes magazine volumes of this specific type of puzzle. The puzzle can be tricky!
They prepare a regular word search puzzle with a list of words you need to find. Then, they remove all of the vowels from the puzzle, replacing them with empty circles: O.
While at first this puzzle may not sound very difficult, when you are looking at a fifteen by thirty grid of letters with circles in place of all of the vowels, it is!
For example, a puzzle about colors might be displayed as follows: Word list: BLUE ECRU RED
A line of the puzzle might be:
R O B L O O C R O L B D O R B C
Your job is to determine which vowel: A,E,I,O,U, needs to go in which circle to complete the words in the puzzle. You then circle the word.
I enjoy Missing Vowels puzzles and find them challenging but a little more tedious than other puzzles that I do.
