Yeps guys...........as always m here again wid the latest game played by our Government of India of implementing reservation's . Why the hell Govt. doesn't understand this thing that by providing reservatios on the basis of caste and religion making that community ill. Providing reservations on the basis of religion sucks our educational system, althought m agree we do need to give them chance to come up from their so called backwardness, but will it be fair on the basis of caste and religion???.
Being an Engineer, I know what it takes when somebody do hardwork, studied a lot for getting rank to take admission at IIT's or IIM's and those who are having no brain nor they are able to atleast take mental challenge are gettting good colleges and good streams, although they are not able to score the minimum passing marks required. What the Government want to prove, can't they make them competitve enough by making them ready to face challenges. You know what the funny thing is when I cracked the Pre-Engineering Test of my state there waas one fellow from ST tribe, who got National Institute by scoring only 1 mark in screening test, what it is???
Hey again it's not that m against of SC/ST or OBC, but m talking of Intelligence not Caste, we do find many damn good Scholar's from sc/st - One famous example is our constitution builder - Great Scholar Bhimrao Ambedkar.''
Here what todays/ Times of India, Mumbai edition says:
Corporate captains have come down hard on the government's decision to reserve 49.5% reservation in IITs and IIMs, calling the move a retrograde step, which could erode the culture of meritocracy at IITs and IIMs.
Says Ajay Piramal, chairman, Piramal Enterprises, ''The proposal is an arbitrary one, as it was not consulted with the prime minister and hence there is a serious issue of misgovernance.''
Most business leaders aren't convinced that reserving seats is the best way to uplift the backward classes. ''It is not so much a matter of reservation as it is of affirmative action.
It is about people who historically have not had a chance. Society needs to think deeper to do something to create equal opportunities.
I do not think either the reservation system or the scholarships method as proposed by Narayana Murthy hold a solution,'' said Arun Maira, chairman, Boston Consulting Group.
Says Santrupt Misra, director, HRD, Aditya Birla group, ''The government, instead of taking shortcuts to offer them paper degrees minus competence, should focus their attention to better the primary and secondary education in the country. I will always look to merit and never ask for the caste.''
Yet, not everyone believes the government is off the mark. RBI chief economist Narendra Jadhav is one who believes that the government should make efforts to uplift backward classes. ''Caste does not define how intelligent a person is. Rather it is differences in resources and exposure.''
