For a person coming from a Nokia Asha 305, this phone was a huge upgrade. Not just the screen size but the sheer range of functions it can perform.
For 2014, this was considered a value for money product. Nearest good phones were 4.5" Moto E (Rs 7500) and Moto G (Rs 13000). This was Rs 9700 and had 5" screen, 1GB RAM, 4 GB internal and support for Micro SD. 8 MP camera and much more. For an amateur, even today camera MP numbers matter. Bought the phone and since it was my first Android I loved it , till a few months later when problems started kicking in. Got the phone in 2014 June. By 2015 Jan phone battery life took a hit. It didn't used to last a day but now it doesn't last half a day. My friends with Moto G had better built, good battery and even IP rating. This phone had cheap plastic built and buttons started getting too wobbly. GPS is for namesake and not once in 2years it found a satellite. No software update. Not even security update. Battery became too worse that I bought battery replacement from ebay thrice in 2years and a powerbank. Nothing could hold the life of this phone. Finally I jumped to Redmi Note 3 in 2016 and God it was heaven. So much was possible. Better camera, Better GPS signal, Great processor and a battery life that I didn't even dream of. Micromax used to buy cheap chinese phones from Shenzen and rebrand it here. The original companies found it out and started their own products eg Gionee . Micromax lost since they didn't even have a full on production plant. Only rebranding stickers and body parts they had. Cheated Indians for 3 4 years and finally hit rock bottom.
Even though the phone, the processor, the quality sucked it still is one of my favourites. My first android. And the phone that stayed during my good times.
