I purchased travel insurance on June 30, 2024, for my trip to Dubai on July 2, 2024.
After making the payment, I did not receive the insurance policy via email and had to contact the insurance agent directly. The agent informed me that I needed to contact Makemytrip since I purchased the insurance through them.
After a long wait, I connected with Makemytrip. After explaining my problem, they assured me that my issue would be resolved within 24 hours. The next day, I followed up, but received no help and was again told the issue would be resolved within 24 hours. This seemed to be their standard response. Despite making several calls and wasting valuable time, I never received my insurance policy.
Due to the urgency of my business trip to Dubai, I decided to obtain new insurance locally and asked Makemytrip to cancel the original insurance. To my surprise, I was told that the insurance could not be canceled. However, I never received the insurance policy in the first place.
This experience reflects incompetence on the part of the staff at Makemytrip, resulting in my loss of money.
I advise against doing business with Makemytrip as their staff is unable to assist effectively, leading to a loss of both time and money for customers.
