You can't trust on agent that is what I heard from many people but what I am saying is that you can't trust on lic either and I am telling this on my 10 years of experience with LIC policies. 11 years ago LIC launch some kind of policy and my father found that policy interesting(isn't it all LIC policies are interesting in listening but when you take one you will find at the end of it how interesting it is) and took that one, according to that policy we were supposed to get paid twice of money we deposited in 5 years after 2 years of final installment but at the end we were informed that company was in loss and we only got 2/3 of what we were supposed to get. So I recommend you if want to take any LIC policy then carefully read all the terms and conditions and thoroughly ask every dout.
