I award Jet Airways the most'customer unfriendly' Airlines of India.(They may later return it as a protest against IndiGo launching it's IPO)
Well, the story is like this.
-I booked a ticket online(LKO-BOM) for Rs 6166.00. For some reason, I had to postpone the itinerary by a week. Now the site said I can not modify bookings since I paid by Netbanking! How else did they expect me to pay online?
-So I called the customer care to modify booking. I was ready to pay the'changing charge' of Rs 3198.00 and the difference of fare. The new fare as shown on their site was Rs 4949.00. But I was told that rate was for new bookings and I will have to buy the new ticket at Rs 7500.00(rs 2500 more than the rate for a fresh booking). So I will have to pay approx 1200 as difference of fare and rs 3198 changing charges.
-I agreed to pay, but then was told I can not pay by debit card, only credit card will be accepted, and since I do not have a credit card, I will have to pay cash, within 4 hour, at the airport, which is approx 35 Kms from my house!
So as a better and cheaper option, I cancelled this ticket, paying a fine of Rs 5000.00 to jet and bought a new ticket(thus incurring a loss of Rs 3800 as against rs 4400 had I got it modified by jet)
