3 months later, Fab Furnish Failure Saga continues

I placed order for 3 items from Fab Furnish(Order Numbers 205789442 and 208262442). A dining set, a queen size bed and a stand for the bathroom. It has been almost a month since I placed the order(like a fool, I made the complete payment while placing the order) but other than the bathroom stand, all the other products are still not in usable state. First of all the products were not delivered on time. Fab furnish had various reasons for it, but end of the day Fabfurnish failed in their promise of delivering the product with in the 5-9 days time that they promised.


But the shocker was once the product, after much delay, was delivered. The **sleeping plank of the queen size bed was in damaged condition**, which I informed them almost 10 days ago, and I am still waiting to hear from them on corrective action. So the cot is lying in its pack at my home taking up space in an unusable state. Then came the Dining table, but there was **only one chair that was delivered, where as I had ordered the set with 6 chairs**. 3 days ago, some one came to assemble the table, and when the packing of the one chair that was delivered was opened, **the chair was in broken condition**. I forwarded all these details to the customer care, but it looks like they are just sitting on top of it without taking any action. I am stumped by the fact that even after so much delays, Fabfurnish has failed to deliver the products in a usable condition. The only upside that I see with Fabfurnish is the highly courteous customer support who apologizes for each and every issue you face. But I did not pay them for the apologies but for a usable product, which I wonder when they will deliver.


Update on the followup actions by Fabfurnish for the issue with queen size bed on the same

  • Again after multiple calls to their customer care, they finally inform me that they are in the process of identifying the best suitable plywood to be used to replace my damaged one. Can you believe it? These folks are in furniture business, and they sold me a damaged bed and now they want time to decide the best plywood. Since I did not have much choice anyways, I agreed.

  • Now comes the really funny part. After  much deliberation by Fabfurnish, which took a week to just finalize on what quality of plywood to use to replace the damaged one(I am serious!. It took them more than a week), some body comes and dumps few plywood sheets at my place.

  • Later that day, Fabfurnish technician visits my place only to realize that the plywood is not cut as per the requirements. He does not have the tools to do so. Also during this time a bent is observed in one of the plank. Fabfurnish customer care promises to fix both the issues by the next day, and in max 2 days.

  • After waiting for 3 days and numerous calls to customer care( I would have called atleast 10 times), the technician is kind enough to finally pay me a visit. And then he tells me, he will only fix cut the plywood. He cannot replace the plank which needs to be send from fabfurnish, which I am sure would have taken its own sweet time. What I dont understand is why both the same technician and customer care promised to fix it in a days time, if the plank needed to be sent from fabfurnish.

  • *Queen bed is being returned**. Not sure when they will come to pick it up and when I will get my money back. Even if I get my money back, what of all the agony I had to go through in the past one month?

So all in all, after paying them in full one and half months ago and having gone through all these troubles, I am left with no bed and has to go buy a new bed. Ofcourse, certainly not from Fabfurnish


My advice to all out there. *Please do not buy anything from FabFurnish. They are just a bunch of irresponsible folks who does not care about their customers time and money.


Update on 11/09/2014


Last week one of the chair(second one since the original delivery was made) has broken. I  was so fed up with the previous experiences I had with these folks that I decided to let go the money I spent on this table rather than contacting their customer care again. But turns out that god does not want me to live with peace of mind. Yesterday I get a call from Fabfurnish rep, to pick up the first broken chair. It has been lying at my home for the past 2 months in packed condition. And he asks me about the product and I tell him that the second chair is now broken. As always, apologies follows, and he creates a case number for me. 2-3 follow up calls later, I send them the snaps of the broken chair, along with another crack that has started to form on the dining table, for which I get an acknowledgement from them. 10 hours later, now I get another mail and sms from them asking to send the snaps again. Now I regret the moment when I even mentioned about the damaged to the customer rep. I would now have to relive all the horrors that I went through when I ordered the product earlier(which you can read above).


Update on 26/09/2014


A third chair has started to form cracks. While I have given up hope of getting a quality product from Fabfurnish, I am still posting it so that other readers are aware of the life of any furniture you buy from Fabfurnish. Dont buy stuff from these guys just to save a few bucks.
