To all my foodie friends....it s been a pretty long time since I wrote something .....
"Alibaba’s Klay Oven" located at Dhanraj Mahal, Colaba, Mumbai--near Regal Cinema is a joint for all north indian / kebab food lovers....The ambience is bright, clean, posh and very good and so is the service. Hot drinks are also available. A kingfisher beer regular costs Rs.140/-. Imported liqour /beers are also available.
The menu mainly consists of kebabs and north indian dishes though chinese food is also available. The kebabs - three items which I tried were very good - namely Kakori kebabs(something similar to sheekh kebabs), chicken kalimiri kebabs and boti kebabs....all were well made, soft and tasty and served sizzling hot. Next we had the rogan josh with butter naan and nawabi biryani(boneless mutton) served with raita....again the taste was very good. The serving time is approximately fifteen minutes.
The pricing is on a higher side with average dishes costing Rs.200/- plus, but the portions are fairly big and tthe quality is very good so the pinch does not hurt.
The recommendations by the captain are also very good and honest.
I await to try the raang next time though for that iI will have to take in atleast six people as informed to me....
All in all a good eatery and worth visiting.
