I traveled from train num 12203 New Delhi to Amritsar Garibrath on 11-Dec-2012 with my old parents, wife and 2 small kids..This train comes from Saharsa and was 6 hours late and was very very dirty (see for yourself on photos). I keep forgetting to add that there was no water in our coach and coach next to ours on 1 side as well. I have added a photo collage as this site only allows 2 photos which didnt do justice to support my review here.
When it arrived in Delhi from Bihar.. 100s of people came out of 1 side of the coach which wasn't very expected. Kooli told me that this train is always overflowing when it comes from Bihar and wasn't sure why this train was ever recommended to us.
To make matters worse there were no announcements for this train on Delhi Station till the train was finally ready to arrive. When we finally managed to board this train, the space for luggage below the seats is very less and staff was absolutely rubbish..
Apparently you need to pay for the sheet and blanket in Garib Rath.. and staff did not t have sufficient numbers and kept moaning about how people steal Towels hence they have stopped providing towels in the train.
I had not booked Shatabdi thinking this train would reach Amritsar first. BAD Decision as on the day, when this train was late.. there were no seats available on 'current booking' in Shatabdi either...
Have registered my complaint with Indian Railways.. Let's see what action is taken.. My recommendation ... AVOID this train..
