This is what happened to me.
Got a good quote from websites like policybazar.com which appears as an advt in many popular sites for aviva term policy, find that aviva is offering low premium for term policy, get interested, apply, pay the advertised premium, go for medical, then they increase premium amount by 60-100% sighting underwriter decision although medicals are fine, you get annoyed and ask for cancellation and full refund, they deduct 50-80% of the premium amount you originally paid thinking you are making an investment:) . call customer care . they tell its the system although its nowhere written and in fact initially you will be told medicals is free of charge and the website says you will be charged medical, stamp fees etc only if you decide to exit yourself during freelook period. . customer care further tells u its no use to complain, escalate, try reaching his/her supervisor etc. you may be told that someone/supervisor will get back but no replies, no replies to emails etc . a nice quick clean loot.
I am happy to have quit, I am sure that will not settle any claims as well, in case there is an unfortunate application for the same.
