They say Nicholas Sparks is an amazing author. He sure is. However, it has been my observation that almost all the movies made based on his books have surpassed the books themselves.
The Lucky One is one such movie. Starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, this sensitive movie is about a disc...Read more

James Patterson is a very good writer of thrillers, and it was with this thought in mind that I picked up his above book written by him c. 1998. In this book, written with science fiction scenarios that seemed to be quite within reach in the next 10-20 years, Patterson writes a lovingly told sto...Read more

I had gone for a shopping evening to Phoenix, and was curious to eat at Mainland China, about which I had heard a lot. It is located on the top floor of the Palladium Mall. A small but decently appointed place, it lacks rest rooms, and their manager would point you to the mall's washrooms which ...Read more

I visited this unique fine dining restaurant with my family for dinner on the 2nd of January 2015. What really amazed me was the very different menu and decor in this place. Located on the back-side of the Express Towers skyscraper at Nariman Point, The Sassy Spoon is not an original name as the...Read more

Most readers would be aware that the US faced a huge hack on the release of the movie a week ago, and Sony Pictures was forced to cancel its Christmas release all over the USA and elsewhere. By the time America woke up to the menace purportedly unleashed by North Korea, the damage had been done;...Read more

The movie stars Rannvijay Singh, who we have all seen earlier in forgettable movies; but mostly, we remember him for his rocking emceeing on TV adventure shows. He is well-built, has pretty good expressive skills and acting manner, and for once, I agree with the previous reviewer fenil_seta that...Read more

Near the end of the movie, someone asks John McClane(Bruce Willis), the five-time hero of the Die Hard series if he chases action, or if the action seems to find him; his answer: I am still trying to figure that out.
The plot of this 2013 movie is a little stretched; a supposedly innocent pol...Read more

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from an outlet in Saudi Arabia, where I work for a living. Before I start this review, let me say that mobile phones are VERY CHEAP in this part of the world. I got my Note 3 for just about 35K Indian rupees!

When I heard about this story, my immediate reaction was: how mismatched is the lead pair of the rugged and rough-looking Randeep Hooda and the extremely chui-mui si Alia Bhatt. However, the plot required the actor to be a ruffian, and the heroine to be sauve, so, in fact, the casting of the lea...Read more

The Pre-Primary Teacher
Feb 10, 2012 11:05 AM
Nice, but ... A little suggestion ... if I may. The write up would have been even more enjoyable if it was written from the POV of the preschooler's mind and not as a memory of an adult. For example, if the preschooler's mind had visualised it, he could not have referred to the other children as ''2...0 hollering kids'', he would not have understood the meaning of 20 minutes and he would certainly have not known that his tiffin had ''aloo parantha'' ... LOL . Try re-telling this again from the POV of innocence ... it will be a little tough to write, but more enjoyable ... both for you, and for us!Read More

The Restaurant That Stood There Once

Impermanence Alvin Toffler wrote about changing landscapes, thoughts, things and people in his book ''Future Shock''. He wrote those things more than a few decades ago, and now, as with other things, they are coming to pass in India too. As emotional connect fades away, so impermanence comes to stay..., bringing with it a lot of misery and nostalgia that aches deep down in the heart.Read More
