Star Writer Guidelines

Do you want to be a Star Writer?
MouthShut receives several queries from members, asking us if there is a specific formula that we apply in recognizing somebody as a Star Writer. We thought we'd tell you what all we look for in a prospective Star Writer. These guidelines have been in use since May 1, 2001.

The member should:

• Be an active member on MouthShut.com in good standing.
• Be a regular writer, with most reviews rated as Highly Recommended or Recommended by other members.
• Be trusted by several members. Distrusted by few or none.
• Be active in commenting and rating other members’ opinions.
• Never have violated any conditions under Terms of Services.
• Have a complete profile page.
• Have a photo uploaded on his/her profile page. The photo should of the real self only - no family members or friends in that photo. Ideally it should be a headshot. No digital manipulation of photo is allowed.
• Not be an active member on any other Indian consumer review site.

In all cases, Star Writers are decided by a panel of 3 members from the management team at MouthShut.com, whose decision is final. For those who wish to know the benefits of being a Star Writer.
