Logically, even Rafi fans would agree to it: 1. A playback singer must also know how to act - to be able to match his voice properly to the situation and film - Rafi overdid emotional songs, e.g., Babul ki duaayen leti ja, Kishore didn't even try to show that he was sad and yet used to produce trem...endous pain and sadness in his voice, e.g., Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi. 2. If you want to compare, then logically, you cannot compare both unless you take the song that both of them have sung, as the basis. In the example of Tum Bin Jaoon Kahan, Kishore had only 1-2 lines to sing in the film as playback for Bharat Bhushan in the beginning of the film whereas Rafi was given the entire song to sing for Shashi Kapoor. But if you ask 100 people about who sang the song, 95 of them don't even know that Rafi even sang it. THIS WAS KISHORE'S GREATNESS. 3. THE LAST AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR - KISHORE WAS NOT AT ALL TRAINED AND THE ONLY ONE IN THE HISTORY OF INDIAN CINEMA - YET HE SANG SONGS LIKE MERE NAINA SAAWAN BHADO (SHIVARANJINI RAAG) WHEREAS RAFI WAS COMPLETELY TRAINED AND EVEN THEN AMONG PEOPLE, HE IS NOT 'MORE POPULAR' THAN KISHORE, AT MOST EQUAL HE IS EQUALLY POPULAR. I certainly admit that Rafi was a legend and was one the best ever in romantic songs and playback singing, still Kishore was far greater than Rafi (based on the 3 logical and true points I have mentioned) and ohioguy24us mentioned Kishore's voice as 'rough and cheap', let me tell you that that was the vioce which enabled him to sing better and stronger than Rafi - he would destroy Rafi in high pitch as well as low pitch. Kishore's range was far greater and Rafi was nothing in front of him in versatility. P.S. 'Lata-Suman-Asha-Geeta' mentioned by 'Beautiful' is an absolute blunder as the legendary names like Lata and Asha cannot be written or taken along with any other name. Now, what the Rafi fans have to say about these logical explanations and arguments? Read More

Certainly Himesh is a divine phenomenon gifted to Indian Film and Music Industry. After legends like Panchamda and Naushad Sahab, he is the biggest musical genius that has ever existed. His songs have a huge variety and differences - only people feel they are similar bcoz they belong to the same but that doesn't mean that the songs are similar - compare tere naam with jhoom jhoom. At last, nothing succeeds like success - Himesh is currently owning the music industry and nobody can question his talent or comment on him except for praying him and by the way, madsadman is true to his name when he says that shaan is in anyway less in melody or in talent or in music than himesh bcoz Shaan IS truly and the original king of Indian pop - his innovations are far beyond any other artiste except Himesh.Read More
