The Treasure of Kafur definitely sets a fresh direction in Indian adventure writing. The plot is gripping and takes us back to the Mughal period vividly so that we are completely immersed in the story.
The story was a great addition from the first bit itself. I liked the idea that it involved a lot of action and there was always something surprising and the elements to keep me going on and on.
The language seems formal plus, its really easy to visualize the character. As you get through the first few pages the action starts pulling you to read on.
This book swept me back to 1580AD. An absolute historical adventure during the Mughal rule. Here the author has well defined or given us a clear picture about the strong element of tension between the Mughal emperor and the kingdom of Deccan at the time; this is really an action-filled, thrilling story of Dattatreya, a character in this story and Akbar the Mughal emperor.
I was intrigued by the presence of ‘Akbar the great’ as a character and this book is entirely different from other books. The Treasure Of Kafur is a must read for those who like history and adventure stories.
