The Shadow Throne is well written, has great characterization and is just waiting to become a film. The visual imagery it paints is truly evocative.
The characters have been etched with loving detail, making even the resurrection of the'Asiatic Greek' believable; well almost. Another great thing about the book is it's writing. Crisp, clear and erudite without being pretentious or bombastic. This is a very well researched book.
It is an audacious plot which reveals the dark underbelly of the murky world of intelligence and how rogue elements blinded by their own personal agenda can bring the sub - continent to the brink of nuclear war.This fast paced action thriller rival the best Hollywood flicks in its genre.
The very idea of the central theme is preposterous! And as one is taken through the labyrinth of intrigue, suspense and surprise I came out feeling a bit like the protagonist himself!Pick it up for your next flight, shatabdi ride, or a snoozy afternoon. You will thank me for it.:P
