This is my list on ten best bollywood directors and first to be on my list

Manmohan desai **was considered as one of the finest directors of hindi cinema he has directed many movies like amar akbar anthony, suhaag , parvarish, coolie and sachcha jhoota He has worked with amitabh bachchan in many films almost all turned out to be hits.**Amar akbar anthony suhaag** and **coolie** are some of his prominent movies

*Hrishikesh mukherji **was acknowledged as one of greatest filmmakers of indian cinema He has directed films like **anand, chupke chupke , golmaal and his last film was jhoot bole kauwa kaate **which didnt work so well** **.** Anand Golmal, chupke chupke, guddi, abhimaan** and **bawarchi **are some of his prominent films

*Basu chatterjee **he is the finest directors in the industry.Not many movies, I have seen of this director so I will be mentioning those which I have seen.This movies are my personal favorites as well **Chameli ki shaadi, chit chor, choti si baat , Khatta meetha  rajni gandha and khoobsurat  **are some of his prominent films He has done many films with actor, director amul palekar

*Ashutosh gowarikar **he has made four films. His first film was pehla nasha with aamir khan which sank without a trace.Hissecond film was baazi and did well at the bo.He shot to fame with film **Lagaan **This was not only the top money grosser but also bagged all the awards and  was also  nominated as best foreign film at the academy awards.later he directed film** swades** this time it was not aamir khan but shahrukh khan in the lead this film didnt work at the box office

*Sanjay leela bhansali** His first film was **khamoshi** which turned out to be disaster.His second film **hum dil de chuke sanam** was a successful film.and adding some more feathers to his cap were films devdas and black Black is considered as one of the best films ever made in bollywood

*Yash chopra ** he is one of the finest filmakers in the industry.His movies are kind of trend setters he directed movies like **dhool ka phool, deewar, kabhi kabhi  and many more **.He has worked with amitabh bachchan in many films.Deewar, dhool ka phool chandni trishul and lamhe are some of his prominent films

*Ramesh sippy **is the successful filmmaker of 70's .He has directed movies like sholay, seeta aur geeta and saagar.sholay is considered as one of the best films ever made in the bollywood

*prakash mehra** is also one of the successful directors of 70's and 80's he has made hit  films like  **zanjeer, muqaddar ka sikandar, laawaris, namak halal and sharabhi *

*Bimal roy ** deserves to be mentioned in this list I havent seen all the movies of his so I will mention those  which I have seen dilip kumar's **devdas, do bigha zameen, sujata and madhu****mati** are some of his prominent movies

*Guru dutt ** not only acted in the movies but also directed it  **kaagaz ke phool, pyaasa and** **baazi **are some of his prominent films

and I would like to give special mention to** nagesh kukunoor  and kundun shah
