I had the same experience as Vivek with this model MC-8083MLR of LG.
Model:MC-8083MLR , Date of manufacture: 27-May-2008, Retail prices: Rs. 15990/-.
I bought the microwave in July 2008 from Pai Electronics, 100ft road Indiranagar.
After a few days of initial use, it wouldn't come one. Apparently the fuse had gone. The technician replaced it and again the next day it stopped working. This time he said the door switch was causing the problem. After this again the next day the machine stopped working. After much calling and chasing after LG I raised this with Pai. They directed us to LG but after 3 weeks LG did not do anything, Pai replaced it with another piece of the same model one evening. The next morning the microwave stopped working. We escalated this to LG via their email to their Customer Care Manager and also to Pai. Today the technician arrived to check what was wrong. He said the fan was faulty and that causes the magnetron to fail. All this in a supposedly brand new piece. Now we wait to see when we get ta microwave that we can start using.
We have been using an LG Sizzlet microwave oven for the last 6 years and hence went for LG for our new microwave. However things seem to have gone downhill with LG quality and most of all service. They just don't seem to bother about customers daily lives being dependent on their products.
