Malala Yousafzai is one of the most inspiring iconic figures of our time. Reading her book and knowing more about her story has been on my list for a really long time. This book is written by Malala Yousafzai and Christina Lamb.
From Malala's childhood in Swat valley, Pakistan to the time when she was shot by a member of Taliban for voicing her opinion about education, the book covers all the major events which are worth reading. I really enjoyed the part where Malala talks about her family, the valley she grew up in, her childhood, the stories. The part which gives the account of how she stood up against the rule which stated that girls should not go to school, is uplifting.
The section of the book which gives a detailed account of Malala getting shot is heart-wrenching. Despite facing such difficulties and life threatening scenario, Malala never gave up her fight for what is right, which is education for all, irrespective of gender, caste or creed. A lot of historical bit is also covered about the country which was quite informative. Malala's story is inspiring, uplifting and her courage is remarkable. A highly recommended book of a young girl's life.
