The story begins with Malala being shot by the Taliban on her way back from school. This book "I am Malala" is the author's own story of her campaign for women’s right to education.
The most inspiring thing about Malala is that she is just a 14 years old girl fighting for the rights of women in Pakistan. Malala shares stories of her father, whom she considers her role model, who infact inspired her to contribute to the society.
The book talks about her father's struggle and efforts to contribute to women's rights. If you are very keen on history then you will love this book, as the first half of the book is all about Pakistan's history. Inspite of having three stories intertwined, Pakistan's, her dad's and her own, she beautifully manages to give the message that is intended to through this book.
The lesson that you learn from the story of Malala Yousafzai, a Pashtun girl from Pakistan’s Swat Valley who was born of an illiterate mother, grew up in her father’s school, is awe-inspiring. A must read book, read and be inspired:)
