As a huge fan of Telugu thrillers, I was eagerly waiting for HIT: The Third Case to hit the big screens. After watching both the prequels in the theatres, I just couldnt miss this one. With Nani stepping into the lead role as SP Arjun Sarkaar, the HIT franchise keeps giving edge of the seat crime thrillers. Director Sailesh Kolanu has a unique storytelling style which keeps you guessing what will happen next. HIT: The Third Case has bigger criminals and even bigger crimes. The story kicks off with a bang! Arjun Sarkaar, the most honest police officer is seen behind the bars and I wondered how he could have gotten there.

We are taken into a bit of history where Arjun is posted as the SP of Jammu and Kashmir, when 13 serial murders happen across the country in the exact, chilling fashion. This sends shockwaves across the nation and Arjun is put at the center of a massive investigation. The movie is about how Arjun tracks the terrorists while managing his own trials and complicated relationship with Mrudula, played by Srinidhi Shetty. As the movie progressed, I got to know a lot of things about the dark web and how it is used to facilitate crimes. The movie handles the topic brilliantly. It was definitely an edge of the seat thriller until the climax!

The biggest highlight of the movie is Nanis powerful performance as Arjun Sarkaar. He completely transforms himself, bringing a raw intensity and aggression that we havent seen from him before. He just owns all the scenes. Srinidhi as Mrudula looks good on screen and shares decent chemistry with Nani. The action sequences are another major plus. The stunts are well-choreographed, gritty, and get more intense as the film progresses. The cinematography by Sanu John Varghese deserves special mention-the dark, moody visuals perfectly match the films tone. The entire film is just grander and well-detailed.

However, the movie is not without its flaws. The cinematography and action scenes, along with Nanis acting are amazing. However, the investigation plot could have been tighter. There are a lot of loose ends. The case should have been very detailed. I couldnt admire Arjuns detective skills, everything seemed to fall into his laps. Arjuns backstory-why he is so angry and why his father left him with his grandfather-is mentioned but not properly explored. Also, the movie is too violent. While I loved the action, some people might find it disturbing.

All in all, HIT: The Third Case is a dark, gritty thriller that tries to push the boundaries of Telugu cinema with its bold themes and intense action. Nanis performance is the biggest reason to watch the film-he carries the entire movie on his shoulders. He is a very versatile actor. The case is interesting and its very hard to predict the plot of the movie. However, the writing could have been better. I would have loved to see more character development for Nani and his relationship with Mrudula. If you are a fan of fast-paced Telugu movies, this is definitely a must-watch!
