Seriously? This branch doesn't even deserve 1 star. I am a UK resident who came to open an NRE account at HDFC, Banaswadi, Bengaluru. Unfortunately, I was assisted by a staff member named Pankaj, who clearly had no idea what he was doing. At first, I thought he might be a trainee, but he wasn’t. Even if he didn’t know the process, he could have at least been polite, but instead, he was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. At one point, he asked a lady for help, and they were literally arguing in front of me. They kept passing the responsibility to each other, completely avoiding customer service.
This wasn’t just my experience—I spoke with two other customers that day, and they had the same complaint about the staff’s rude behavior. I had a strong feeling that they wouldn’t process my account, so I asked Pankaj if he was sure he would open the NRE account for me. He said yes. However, after I left, he called me 5 minutes later, saying the form wasn’t fully filled out, even though he had checked it before I left. This clearly shows the staff’s carelessness, wasting customers' time.
It has now been 3 weeks, and I haven’t received any email or phone call. I contacted HDFC again, and Pankaj answered. The main issue is that he doesn’t even listen and just hangs up without providing any resolution. This has happened multiple times—whenever I call, he cuts the call in the middle of the conversation. I’m not targeting just one person, but I can confirm that all the staff at this branch have the same terrible attitude, as if they aren’t getting paid or as if we are getting something for free.
It’s not just this branch—better to avoid HDFC altogether. The customer service is very poor. The manager should be fired for not training the staff properly and for making customers' lives miserable. I originally chose HDFC to invest money in India for a property purchase, but now I will never return to this bank—absolutely not.
