Plot:

Performance:

Music:

Cinematography:

Although we have witnessed several “Dum”’s in the recent years this one gives you stylish punches at times especially in the first half of the movie.

The Cast

Vivek Oberoi has once again come up with a Powerful performance which is sure to boost his career.

Atul Kulkarni who had played the bad cop has given sincere performance.

Diya Mirza has not got much scope to show her talents, but has come up with good screen presence.

Mukesh Rishi & Sushanth has done justice to their small roles.

The rest of the cast has also contributed adequately

The Crew

The Story and Screenplay is the same to same adaptation of Original version in Tamil titled “Dhill” so E niwas and his co-writer does not deserve credits for that.

The Background score by Sandeep Chowta is excellent gelling with the pace and mood of the film

Other Commendable contribution is from the Action director who had executed the action scenes well.

The Cinematography is first rate

Technically the film stands apart from recent flicks

The Direction

The Director E Niwas has created a glossy version of Tamil film “Dhill” were most of the scenes are directly lifted from the original. The only change is in the Cast and the picturisation of Songs. He had succeeded in execution of the film stylishly without hindering the story of the film. The film lacks “Dum” in the second half where the hero takes up illegal moves to destroy the evil.

Overall

Dum is a film with a story that we had witnessed several times in films like “Arjun”, “Elaan”, “Gardish” etc. But “Dum” is a stylishly shot film with exciting moments in first half, commendable performance by Lead cast, Good Production Values, First rate Cinematography and Music. Its worth a watch for Vivek Oberoi fans and those who loves “Action” movies. This movie may not appeal the family audience, as there is an overdose on Violence and little bit of vulgarity in item song titled “Bijalee” in the second half
