I wanted to buy a Diesel Car between 6-8 Lakhs and I surveyed for about 2 months considering all the cars that fall in this price tag.
After analyzing so much I ended up by booking a Chevrolet SAIL 1.3 LS ABS.
Following are the cars which I considered and I will try to explain that how sail is better than these:
- Swift
No doubt better engine performance and mileage but
Low boot Space and congested seating. Moreover the rear passengers feel somewhat trapped due to small rear windows and rear glass.
one major issue I saw was that Maruti has dropped the quality of its vehicles subsequently past many years as I am a Maruti owner since 1999 and have purchased about 7 maruti car till now in my family past this period but the stuff delivered nowadays by Maruti is so use less that you can put a dent on the vehicle simply by pressing against it
- Dzire
No ABS in VDI
whereas ZDI is to costlier than SAIL LS ABS
Poor Body quality hence safety is compromised
Tight Rear Seating as Compared to SAIL
Less boot space as compared to sail
- I20
Better features but
Less milieage and 30k costlier than sail
less boot space as compared to sail
less appeal as it is still a hatch back whereas Sail is Sedan
4 Ford Classic
I drove it and rejected it due to grater engine noise and more vibrations as compared to SAIL and no ABS in 7, 40, 000 model whereas you get ABS in SAIL LS ABS for just 6, 90, 000
5 Ertiga
Found some bad reviews and customer complaints about manufacturing defaults

Personally, didn't like the dashboard.
So I have booked the SAIL and waiting for it desparetely
