Badami is famous for caves and near by badami banashakari devi temple also there. As we all know that , Badami was ruled by Chalukyas and their capital was vatapi and the famous ruler of this dynasty was Veerapulakeshi 2 and he was so strong in his term of ruling the Badami , he never allowed to enter the Harshavardhana into his dyansty and Harshavardhana had never crossed the Narmada river because south side Veerapulakeshi was so strong that nobody even had crossed the Narmada river .the opponent of chalukhya dynasty was Pallava's dyansty and this was ruling in Tamil Nadu .
