Before I begin, I should ask everyone here to mention which area of a city you belong because I have seen different quality of customer support offered for different people living in different parts of Bangalore. I stay in Sahakaranagar, Bangalore. I got this connection around 7 years back. In fact I was among the first to get airtel connection in my area. They told me it would take a weeks time to set up the connection but they dug up the side road, layed the cable, closed it up, covered it up with tar(unlike BWSSB), did the wiring inside my house(the wiring with casing was good and I loved the way casing fit the wall) and the phone and the internet with 128 kbps was up and running within 24 hours! Now that's cool.


I previously had BSNL connection. It did well for 4 years but once the telephone instrument blacked out, I always got an old cranky used phones which never lasted more than 5 months. sick of this, I changed to airtel.


I have had 3 problems with airtel in last 7 years and have been attended within 10 hours everytime. BBMP idiots once dug up the whole road and pulled up my airtel line. the technician came at 8 PM. it was drizzling and I felt bad and asked him to come next morning. He said' Saar, ellaru nimma taraha irall.aadre naanu madle beku saar'(not everyone would say this. But I have to fix it).


They are costly but there is some quality I see. speed doesn't go down and remains constant. they dont call you to promote stupid products.


Only time I got pissed off was when they offered better tariff plans for my friend than mine. They said the sales team decides who gets the new tariff offers. I have often felt they don't give you best deals if you are an old customer. you are not eligible for new/better plans until you threaten them to discontinue. I have had no problems in recent past to talk about or rate their customer support post 2010.
