Cheating by Voltas (Beware of Voltas service quality promise)

I bought a Voltas AC in February 2018.


In July 18, It started giving some display Error E2 and after some time it display DF and stopped cooling. This was very frequent problem.


I registered a problem for same issue(i have mentioned every thing) but they registered the problem under different category of issue. (Consumers don't know of such categories). Even I didn't know the meaning of E2 or DF.


If it is E2 only, it keeps cooling.


But it means PCB replacement as per voltas service agent which they didn't tell me at that time.


Because of actual issue, they have to replace PCB but they want to avoid PCB replacement so they didn't register it correctly.(I didn't know such things that time).


Since they registered the issue under different category and did minor corrections, it started cooling again.


Since this happen at end of summer and I rarely use this AC(I am a middle class person), I didn't find this problem for some time.


When I used this ac again in next summer, I got the same problem again.


Customer care refered to service centre. Initially service centre guy denied the registration of issue during warranty period. When I provided complaint number and told to go for consumer forum, they he accepted it and started giving excuses. Here he said your old problem registered under different category and now it isn't under warranty.


Now they are telling me to change the PCB which will cost me Rs4500. Service agent is trying to purse me for 30% discount OR pcb repair for Rs 1200 instead of replacement. This is still a high amount for me. Why should I agree if It is not a my fault?


During this discussion, I come to know E2 means replacement of pcb as per voltas service agent and it should have been replaced during first problem.


They are not ready to check my call recording history when i registered a problem during warranty period. He is saying me to provide proof.(usually good company have call recording for service call)

I will go in consumer forum. Hope I shall find justice.


By the time, i am posting this so some future voltas customer can decide to choose better product.


Just to mention, I bought this AC from paytm mall. I got some extra Rs2000 discount wrt other competitors. I believe they have sold me faulty product at first place.
