Yes I have mentioned correctly it is not BPO, TCS calls it BPS, so everyone wants to work with one o the best brands all across the globe they have to get ready for the grinding the work pressure.
Iam talking about the telecommunication domain, TCS BPS has two major client from the Australia one is Telstra and another NBN.
So if you are part of the TCS in telecommunication get ready to do a 10hr shift, there is not incentive only things in the variable allowance is you night shift allowance and performance allowance.
Night shift is based on your band, 1&2 200/ per day and 250 per day for band above.
TCS is the same feeling you will get when people used to talk about government job.
Mumbai's infrastructure is all old building and I even came to know in TCS Goregoan the fall ceiling had fallen down luckily no one was injured.
So people say TCS BOS pays you good salary, Friends if you calculate you work for 10hr another companies 9hr basically here you doing an OT, so other companies if you work extra hr which is some what 200 to 300 the same you salary will shoot up plus 4K so nothing is special about TCS.
Working for 10hr means you will be away from you friends and family for almost 2hr including the travelling.
When you get selected for TCS, there is a pride feeling working for the best brands in India and you are few selected one.
Carreer growth is difficult cause, you have to be in the system for 18 month to apply for an IJP and then there are banding system and bell curve, yes TCS still uses it.
Only thing I like aabout the company is job security, even when the operations know the HR has made a mistake hiring someone but still they really cannot do much cause even if he associates do not meet the KPI he or she will be moved to another process and not out of TCS.
All your pride is thrashed in a couple of weeks, looking at the system and also the people TCS as hired, you will be ashamed where people do not know CTRL+C and CTRL+V I would not get into English speaking and professionalism.
TCS IT and TCS BPS are completely different, even tea cups changes in the cafeteria when IT shift starts.
I would strongly advise anyone looking for a job in TCS BPS please look into another avenue or companies.
