Ergonomics is something which is synonymous with Sony, but what attracts you is the very fact that the camera is so fully loaded with features that a pro would also admire it. Loaded with basic features of a conventional camera like Red-eye reduction, (now for those of you who dont know what red-eye is, you might've noticed in some photos of yours that the eyes of the subject clicked sometimes have a red dot and look like from some horror flick, this feature almost eliminates that). A nominal 3x optical zoom and 6x digital leaves you asking for more zoom, but for digital camera suffices. Being 4.1 megapixel the highest resolution of the image is 2304 x 1728 hence offering crisp print options. The rotary switch on the top may look too complicate for the first user but offers hell lot of features like manual focusing, variable ISO meaning the sensitivity, remember you used to rolls of 100, 200, 400 etc that what this is, different environment shooting and clicking, video mode in MPEG format with sound (pretty admirable for a dandy digicam), burst and multi-burst mode, this is the feature I love the most, in multi-burst a pic clicked will 16 pics in one image this helps is fast motions like sports where every frame is recorded on a present interval which can be set by the user like 1/32 of a second, fantastic feature!! Also the macro mode is a nice feature for nature lovers like me who like to click flowers from a closer angle. Comes bundled with AA size rechargeable batteries, unlike other cameras which have clumsy NiMH batteries of non-standard size, meaning when use do not have enough power in cam u can used standard AA size alkaline batteries as well. Supports USB 2.0 with a standard USB cable, the software supplied is good enough for novice but advance users may not appreciate it very much. The memory offered is standard Sony Memory Stick or Memory Stick Pro which is expandable upto 1 GB. The price is very affordable (grey market is still cheaper)
