On Saturday mornings my husband and I like to get up very early to take our old 1972 aluminum fishing boat with a 1948 Johnson’s motor and go fishing. We pack up all our gear, coffee, cooler (with sodas, water, food, snacks etc,) fishing poles and tackle, bait, bug spray. You know the important things. We launch down on Black Creek (Jacksonville, Fl.) and set sail for a day of wonderful fishing. We get to our favorite spot (which I won’t mention here) get the poles baited and put into the water. Start relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. And just when we are satisfied with life out on the water I feel these horrible little creatures biting the mess out of me. Of course I hit my leg where the bite was felt, and cause myself more pain. I find myself swatting away flies, and gnats constantly. They give up for a while but go to get reinforcements against me. They bring their friend “ the yellow fly! Now this is a hurting little sucker, will make you itch really bad and can burn. Then you have gnats and mosquitoes as well starting their attack again they even bring their buddy the NO SEE UMS! (If the little dickens could they would probably bring the ants and fleas to the party.) You know that they are all laughing at you, laughing at the pain and aggravation that they are causing you. You even feel the fish start to laugh at you. Well what does a girl have to do to get these pesky pests to leave her alone! I’ll tell you what she does. She gets of her bottle of OFF Skintastic Bug Spray!, that’s what she does. Conveniently in the tackle box! Off Skintastic is used to ward off mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, flies, chiggers, gnats and no see ums! It is formulated with a lower level of active repellant ingredients that can be used on the body and the clothing.

It smells very pleasant and goes on with no greasy feeling at all. It is not oily or sticky. It dries very quickly as well. You simply hold the plastic bottle 6 inches or so from your body and clothing and spray. If you want to put some on your face, do not spray put some in your hands and gently rub around the facial area. Be careful not to get into your eyes. Will BURN and can cause damage. If you do get some in our eyes them immediately with water (even creek water) if the burning persist seek your doctors advice immediately. Now I will simply wash my hands with a damp cloth when I’m out fishing. Be sure to shower when you get back indoors. Skintastic comes in a lightweight plastic pump spray bottle, 6 fluid ounces. The repellent itself is very clear and goes on that way. However today they offer colored spray for kids! And it is “unscented” but yet it does have a very small order to it, it’s rather pleasant. And like I said above it is not greasy or sticky. The bottle also has a hazard warning on it that states “DO NOT USE NEAR HEAT OR OPEN FLAMES. KEEP TREATED AREAS FROM FIRE SPARKS OR FLAMES UNTIL DRY.” Now this means that you cannot use it to keep the fire going on the barbeque grill. (We won’t go there this review.) But seriously, take this all other warnings on the container seriously. Do not let small children use without adult assistance. It also is not a good idea to spray to open cuts or wounds. Be sure to store away from flames or other heated surfaces and children’s precious little hands. And as always do not reuse the container. Throw it away in the trash.

There is a number on the bottle to call for questions or comments. I like this product a lot. I trust the name. My son is allergic to mosquitoes and must be sprayed whenever he goes out. I keep several bottles around the house and in the fishing tackle. I try really hard not to go anywhere outside with out Skintastic. Let me say this, I truly hate the way bug bites make me feel and the mark that they can leave behind. I highly recommend this product. And one of the best parts for me is this: I can now laugh at all those bugs that I just knew were laughing at me. And get back to my fishing!
