Since 25-12-2013 a Holiday I was searching for one day kind of trips in and around bangalore. I have two options in my hand 1) Leapkshi 2) siva gange.

The option 1, being > 100 km from bangalore its impossible to go on our mushikavahana(Hero Pleasure).

So I have opted for option 2. We planned to start early and return early, so that after coming back we can have enough time to take rest for next day office.

We have packed two jerkins, a water bottle, and first aid kit(i am too precautious:).

We started our trip in the early morning 0600. We were welcome by the cold breeze on NH4.

we reached the siva gange by 0745. We directly headed towards trekking the hill.

the entire village is covered by thick fog when we saw from our first stoppage. we took rest for some time and headed to the hill top.

Now, after 45 mins of walk we reached the teertha, where you have to enter a cave like formation in the hill. I the cave, there is a small hole in the hill rock where there is water to the bottom of it.

Its a custom that the piigrims who come over try to reach the water in the hole. its considered sacred and it we touch our sins are going to be washed.

Then after coming out we headed up, where we found the fog has completetely gone, and the sun started to peep through the clouds.

From here on wards, there were many spots which were really good for photography.

There is a small temple where 12 lings where there.(they are calling dwadasha lingas). after crossing this point the actual trekking begins.

the hill is having a slope of around > 80%. So now u will think once more do I really have to do it. Since u came that far, u will never feel to go back. For climbing up the hill, u have to take the help of railings which were on both sides of the steps.

once reached the hill top u will find a Bull statue, a temple on the other side and also some "two sthupas".

the way to climb towards Bull statue is also very vertical. but its a beautiful sight from there once u are at the statue.

now u can go to the temple and have dharshana and get blessings. now u have to climb down with the same care.

once u are down u can go for visiting the gangadhareswara temple. beleived that the ghee can be turned to butter here.

after getting down some more steps we will find "kalika"amma temple. its a beautiful statue, I was really attracted to it. after getting futher down we will find pathala ganga on the left side of the steps. u can see veerabhadreswara swamy staute there and pathala ganga in between the gap between the hill rocks.(which will be very narrow to get down, one person will be allowed at a time to go down and come up).

we were out of temple by 1300. started back home.

suggestions: please wear your footwear if u are planning for trekking, it will avoid the after pains:).

lot of monkeys on the top of hill, better avoid feeding them, otherwise they will come after u.

please be careful if u are taking your kid and aged parents.( I have seen old and children climbing up and down, but its always ur risk)

its not impossible but its difficult.

Directions to go:

take banagalore - Pune highway - some 30 km, later u will find a small board to ur left side saying sivagange - 7 and half KM.

take that road and take one right turn at a "T" junction. then go straight you will find sivagange hill.

Hope you enjoy reading this and pleasure visiting the place.
