Shridi, in the state of Maharashtra is a famous pilgrimage centre in India. It is in the district of Ahmednagar.

Shirdi Sai Baba is now worshiped as God by millions of devotees, whose Samadhi mandir is situated there.

Shri Sai Baba lived in a dilapidated mosque in Shiridi upto 1918 A.D. He entered Shirdi at the age of 16 years and disappeared for one year. After one year he came back to shirdi with a group of muslim families who were coming to attend a marriage ceremony in Shirdi. It happened around 1854 A.D.

Initially he was treated as muslim fakir due to his appearance. Thats why he was advised to live in a mosque. But, he maintained fire in that mosque regularly throughout his life, which was a custom of hindus. He named that mosque as Dwarakamaayi, which has no doors.

He attracted so many devotees through his mystic miracles. He served the patients who were ill and removed their sufferings.

He doesnt belong to one particular religion. He showed the path of humanity, compassion and love.

He preached that God is there in every living being.

He took samadhi in 1918 and his mortal body was burried in the wada built by Buti, which is now called as Samadhi Mandir.

Devotees who visits Shirdi will definitely enjoy the peacefulness in their hearts. They will experience spiritual peace in the Samadhi Mandir and in Dwarakamayee. Devotees can visit the houses of Sai's direct disciples and their samadhis there.

Devotees will be offered free lunch and dinner at Sai Prasadaalay.

It is a beautiful place to visit for mental and spiritual peace.
