Rules of Self Development that Schools dont teach

Though its true that a person, * any person * can polish him/herself by good surroundings , good education and maybe from some people point of view expensive education or by following certain rules many of which the universal rules book say, frankly speaking I kind of strongly disagree with that which my profile would hint too.Self development may/should start from the school age I reckon.Heres something you people might find interesting.

Who hasnt heard of Bill Gates, the computer whiz(geek) one of the richest man on earth every now and then, as far as my thoughts go he made all the money by thinking of the right things at the right time.Bill was himself a college dropout but now whatever he says is being read by university students professors and all the learned class.Let us accept he`s an original who thinks simply and puts it into practical.

Bill Gates dished out at a highschool speech about 11 things that are not taught in schools. He talks about how feel-good and politically correct teachings created a whole generation with no concept of reality and how it all sets them up for failure in real life. The 11 things are as follows:

Rule 1 : Life is not fair- get used to it.

Rule 2 : The world won`t care about your self-esteem.The world will expect you to   accomplish something 'before' you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will not make $ 40, 000 a year right out of highschool. You wont be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn`t have tenure.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents have different words for flipping burgers. They called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, its not your parents fault, so dont whine on your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born your parents werent as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes , listening to you talk about how cool you are.So before you save the rain forests from parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not.In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they`ll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesnt bear the slightest resemblance to'anything' in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You dont get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself.Do that in your own time (finding yourself).

Rule 10: Television is 'not' real life.In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shops and go to jobs unlike the soaps show us, spending most of the time in cafes bars restaurant hanging out and stuff.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds.Chances are you end up working for one.     So true isnt it?

Need anything more follow to be 'developed' the way the world would call you developed? if so, than I anxiously wait for your comments.
