Well, to start off, the carbon fits in your palm. And it fits 5 GB of songs. Internally organizes music by artist and album. The user interface is very intuitive and cool. The voice recording feature is also a nice addition. Audio quality is excellent. The rio also has a gr8 volume wheel and a lock function to make sure u don't accidentally press buttons when it is in ur pocket. And the battery life is huge!

A simple sheet accompanies the Rio but except for finding out where the menu button was I haven't had to look at that sheet

The accompanying software allows you to organize the music and to make playlists. I haven't had any problems of skipping or player lockups with rio as reported. There are also reports of static on the audio output because of the metal body touching the headphone connector base, anyway, I haven't had anything like that

Now, for my issues with the carbon:

1. A totally useless leather pouch is provided. To do anything u need to take the player out. The puch doesn't even have a belt clip. I've often turned off the rio and while putting it back into the pouch I accidentally press the power button and it turns on again.

2. The software has a flaw. Though rio customercare acknowledged this and said it will be solved in the next version. When adding songs to playlists on the carbon, it deletes already exisiting songs on the playlist.
