1st of all the hotel looks nice from the outside and when you enter the lobby. Well maintained lobby and of course nice looking.

So what made me give 2 stars in this review?

Let me start by asking - what one mainly expect from a 5-star hotel?

The answer is service! 5-star service.

A nice room or nice location is available with other property holders as well, however, one visits a 5-star property expecting 5-star service. Excellent service shines out a 5-star hotel from others.

I have visited many 5-star properties but never seen such a degraded and bad service from any hotel apart from this one - Radisson Blu Jaipur.

It seemed they don't care while talking to pax (not all, but yes most of them).

You will notice the rudeness in their voice while they talk to pax (at least I noticed, which I didn't in any other 5-star property). Just to mention an incident - I called up reception (by dialling 0) from my room to ask for the way to the Gym, they seemed to be in real hurry to disconnect the phone due to which I could not even ask my 2nd question and therefore had to visit the lobby.

Now let's come to the real disturbing issues :

1. There is only one staff that cleans the room (what I saw on 2nd floor near my room area). I had to literally beg him to clean my room. They seemed to ignore the tag (of clean my room) that you hang in the handle outside your door.

After some request, he came to clean my room and tried to leave without even cleaning the floor.

Kindly note that the floor in the room is not covered 100% with carpet. As I stayed with my kids, the floor got a bit dirty with chunks of biscuits, juice and chocolates.

To my surprise, the cleaning staff said he can not mop the floor as he doesn't have mop so he agreed to vacuum the floor upon repeated request!! And thus we left with dried juice stain on the floor. At this point, I was thinking to hire someone from outside for cleaning!!! I am not sure why floor cleaning is not included in cleaning process of a 5-star hotel or Radisson hotel Jaipur. Alas!!

2. The bathroom!!

If you take a shower in the bathroom, you are bound to stop the shower in 5 minutes. Reason?

Water logging!!

The water goes down the drain slowly... Very slowly.

If you leave the shower on for more than 5 minutes, the bathroom will be filled with water and thus coming out of it into the room! Wow!

I have a video recording of the same.

So the solution? Bath for 5 minutes or bath and wait till water leaves the room. (applause)!

3. The one touch service button.

The button is broken so you can not call for any service with the one touch service button. I have pic of the same as well. What's left is you have to depend on the reception people to send someone for service. Another service issue. And if you keep calling them, they get irate. At least this is what I felt.

4. Morning breakfast.

No doubt, the breakfast was awesome. The food was excellent. Can't forget the veg omelet!

However, you will have to wait to have your stomach filled with the yummy breakfast. If you can't wake up early in the morning during your holidays, you will be asked to wait at the lobby in the queue as the eating area is full.

Wake up early in the morning (before 7) during holidays? Really?

Ummm... OK. But not fine for me. You may ignore this point if you like.

5. Gym.

It is too small to have all the exercises (chest, back, shoulder, bi-tri, legs and cardio). No room to change. Go and change in your own room and then come back. Of course, no place in the gym to take a shower. Every 5-star property I visited in my life had a shower room alongside the gym. But as mentioned, this hotel is an exception. Not sure why.

Also, the carpet(40% area in room) was very dirty. Had to ask kid not to walk barefoot or sit on the room carpet!

My trip was nice apart from the above issues with the hotel. The trip could have been superb if the small issues of the hotel were not faced. I regret choosing Radisson Blu, Jaipur this time.

Hope the above review will help travellers to take informed decisions in choosing a hotel or property.
