Dear all, I have been in this automobile field for past 19 yrs having rich in experience I would like to share you my views on this heading,

If you want to buy a car for your status symbols you can buy a car,

Petrol car really not adviceable if you are in Chennai City, since we are cursed by non avalablity of CNG, better you take a taxi instead of buying a petrol car,

Adv of taxi instead of own car

1, You need not to drive/ driver in unnecessary tension due to traffic,

2, you need not to worry about Tyre wearing, oil change anything else

3, you need not to worry about parking the vehicle is safer zone, or dent scratch, etc

4, taxi will be 8 RS/km, same will cost you on petrol car's fuel/km alone

Why I am mentioned all these is, you have to spend extra money for this maintenance after paying 8 rs/km on petrol pump for your own car if it is petrol car,

Petrol car on an average not more than 9-10 kmpl,

Don't bounce and say I got a mileage of 16 kmpl, you got it I agree but it is in highways, not in City traffic, if it is Diesel car on high way you will be getting 20-22 kmpl

I'm sure about this, some one start to argue about this kmpl is low , please refer your overall ride, don't think on highway mileage which we use not more than 15%,

If you are in traffic with AC, petrol car drink like camels, this will not happen to Diesel cars, due to high kilojoules value compared to PETROL, petrol car's are not effecient in converting to mechanical energy

Only 20% of petrol energy will be converted into mechanical energy, in Diesel 40% will be converted into mechanical energy,

Few think about extra money to buy a Diesel car, don't worry it will pay back the same while you are selling the car, 2nd hand petrol car price will be less the same difference in New Diesel car's.

Here comes the calculation,

For example if you drive 50k in petrol car, you should spend 8rs/kmX50000= 4 laks

If Diesel 70rs/lit average will be 16 kmpl hence 4.37 RS/kmX50000=21875

Henceforth you save rupees =181250

Let come to Diesel maintenance

For 50k km you need oil service 5 time's both oil prices are same, oil filter 150 extra 150×5=750 RS

Diesel filter 1500X5=7500

Air filter 100 extra 1005=500

Total difference amount= 9000

Tyres both were same price and wearing time

Alignment both were same

Coolant price were same

Henceforth you save more than 1.5 lakhs

For this minimum 50k km travel,

Why should you go for petrol car,

Why should you buy a car, IF you are not going to use for 50k km.

I will like to share this information to you all, pls

Don't blow the same sales person technical trap to buy petrol car, it is utterly waste of money IF you were not able to use CNG,

DO you know Toyota INNOVA has petrol variant, does any sales man recommend for us, no they will not that is how they have been trained.

Petrol car made in India for CNG avalablity States, it is worthless to buy in Tamil Nadu,

If you are interested in petrol car you buy small cars up to 1000 cc or smart highbread car.

If still you are believing in companies commitment towards kmpl, ask them to put on separate 5 lit test can with power fuel pump same like inside your petrol tank.

Don't agree inside your tank or else you can use tank full to tank full method but you have to look very keen on filling up to neck both the time you should be alert,

Don't allow them to drive, they will have good skilled driver who can easily cheat you buy putting gear on neutral most possible time, so you shouldn't agree anyone else expect you are your driver.

And drive not less than 20 km Inside city/ if urban drive for minimum 35 km

Why I am saying so you Vehicle should consume minimum 3lit then you will get the avg some how appropriately. Don't accept for 5-10km short ride, you will not get the avg mileage correctly.

Then you drive like as normal as you drive, then minus 1+1.5kmpl from the mileage given, because out side measurements will be accurate, but while daily filling in petrol pump you will be betrayed by 5-10%, so you have to keep those things in mind. This is the correct kmpl you will get on average in your daily commuting

Start questning you car sales rep if he Force you to buy a petrol car, with the same calculation I mentioned above

DON'T BUY A PETROL CAR, YOU WILL END UP IN NEARLY LOSS. IT WILL NOT SUTABLE For CHENNAI OR NON CNG STATES

Thanks
