Recklessly cruel mystery!!!!!

Paheli has been a Paheli of some sorts for me as a viewer simply because I could not evaluate the hidden motive behind implementation of a storyline revolving around a ghost who falls in love with Rani Mukherji and vice versa inspite of the fact that

Rani Mukherji is actually married to someone else who incidentally shares the same set of facial features as that of the ghost.

The role of the ghost enacted by King Khan was the lead character as he is the “real hero” of the movie.Afterall he turns out to be the romantic interest of Rani Mukherji who innocently gets trapped in love with this ghost.Even after knowing the reality of the ghost she is hardly annoyed and starts assuming him as her husband.

She gets pregnant with the child of the ghost and rejoices at this happening in her life.Absolutely ludicrous and cruel blow to authenticity.A highly impractical and unreasonable phenomena which is in sharp contrast to realistic and rational form of drama.

The ghost eventually decides to prove his love for Rani Mukherji and even enters into the body of her husband.A ridiculous piece of drama which bears no semblance to the creative depths of the hugely talented Amol Palekar.

The colourful and visually enticing apparels worn by the lead actors could have been an eyewash to a certain extent but the core of the movie actually remains null and void.
