A movie that will conquer your heart. A movie with sweet and simple fun. A movie with a light music and great lyrics. The movie is none other than Paheli!

Let me describe each star of the movie.

Shahrukh Khan is the ghost and Kisan. The first believes in love and the other in making money. The first counts the precious moments spent with the beloved, the second each coin spend or earned.

Rani Mukherji is Lachchi. She is an innocent, sweet village girl who dreams of the eternal love. She is caught in a dillema where she has to choose between a ghost's true and honest love and her husband.

Juhi Chawla is Gajro. A beautiful woman abandoned by her husband since seven years. In this seven years, she has developed tolerance and patience and is the only one who understands Lachchi's plight. Suniel Shetty is Sunderlal, the husband of Gajro.

Anupam Kher is Bhawarlal. Greed is his credo and money is his life. Dilip Prabhawalkar is Kanwarlal.

Last is the Amitabh Bachchan who is Gadaria, the wise old shepherd. His technique and wisdom will help to solve the paheli which has bewildered everybody.

The story is like this. Lachchi gets married to Kisan in her own village. When the 'baarat' was returning back. On the way, they stop in a dharamshala to rest. Here, a ghost sees Lachchi and falls in love with her. But he could not convince her of love. And at last, the baarat returns back to Kisan's village. On that night itself, Kisan decides to leave for Jamnagar for five years on account of business. While going towards Jamnagar, Kisan stops at the same dharamshala. So, the ghost comes to know that Lachchi's husband will not be there for five years. So the ghost takes on Kisan's apperance and enters Lachchi's life.

This new Kisan fills the life of Lachchi with color. He also makes everyone happy, including his father Bhawarlal. He helps them in winning the camel race by using his magical techniques.

But after four years, the real husband returns to their village. The whole village gets bewildered. Bhawarlal decides to take both the Kisan to the ruler of their kingdom so that he could distinguish between the two. On the way they meet Gadaria, the wise old shepherd. His three tests will help to solve this Paheli. But can the Gadaria really help to sovle this Paheli?

Everyone's acting was great. Shahrukh Khan, was as usual, the best. Rani Mukherji has delivered the best performance again after Bunty Aur Babli. Juhi Chawla and Amitabh Bachchan, in supporting role, were great. Anupam Kher and Dilip Prabhawalkar were also fine. Suniel Shetty was simply wasted.

M M Kreem's music was great. Gulzar's lyrics was also fine. The best is Allan Amin's action which creates magic! The speical effects were also the best.

On the whole, Paheli is an classic example of the new age cinema. Paheli proves that it Bollywood can be like Hollywood, or even better than it!
