Nokia 9210

I shall of course mention at the end the up coming 9210i

The 9110 and the following 9210 were a leap ahead of other mobile phones as the offered, and still do offer features that are on no other phone. It was like a small laptop almost. With a full colour display and an excellent address book with support for storing contact's pictures, it was a piece to be ogled at.

The Nokia 9210 Communicator is the first Nokia product to support the most commonly used PC office applications - such as Microsoft Office - and the first with wireless Java support.

Availability: Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific

Weight: 244 g

Dimensions: 158 x 56 x 27 mm

Talk time: 4 - 10 h

Key features: Full-color screen with 4096 colors, Mobile email, Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation viewer, High speed WWW and WAP, Mobile multimedia.

Operating system: Symbian platform, open for 3rd party developers

Operating frequency: EGSM 900/1800 networks in Europe, Africa, Asia

The address book is superb with support for storing pictures of your contacts.

You have a wordprocessor, a spreadsheet program and have all your office apps and Email all at one place with FAX capabilities thrown in.

The 9210i is going to pack in more features like:

Browser with Javascript support.

Faster browsing speeds.

Built in Macromedia Flash support so you can now view multimedia.

Real Player (RealOne) built in so you can watch streaming video.

But it is expensive. the 9210 costs around 38,000 to 40,000 and the 9210i will be more expensive. So if you can afford it, flaunt it. It will raise more eyes than those tiny mobile phones but if you want something that fits into half your pocket, then you will not like this one as it IS a little bulky.
