This is Kushal Kant Singh and I would like to share my worst experience with Niyati Medicity Mathura. I aim to make people aware of the irregularities and carelessness the hospital has shown in handling the case of my late father Mr. Suman Kant Singh and my mother Mrs. Prabha Singh. I am sharing my experience so that people can make an informed decision and be very vigilant on the treatment that is being administered to their patients if they are in the hospital already.

My father was admitted to Niyati Medicity on the 8th of Nov at 9:00 PM following the recommendation of the Prabha hospital in Agra as my father was discovered to have a coronavirus infection. His major complaint was discomfort in breathing because of the low oxygen level. Because of his age 78 yr, Prabha’s hospital doctors recommended a multi-specialty hospital - Niyati or Vedanta. We followed the recommendation and without wasting any more time we got him admitted to Niyati on November 9th. We trusted Niyati and believed that they would provide the necessary care and treatment to my father. But unfortunately, our belief was shattered and they did not handle the case well and announced that my father expired on Nov’14 at 2:00 AM.

The hospital did not show any transparency on the treatment that they are giving to the patient. I was shocked to know that they administer a life-saving drug “Remdesivir” to the patient only on Tue Nov'11. We only came to know as they asked us to purchase the drug so that they can give it to my father.

This drug was very critical for my father, and this should have been given immediately on the day he was admitted but unfortunately, it was only given on Nov’11(3 days after he was admitted). This proved critical and my father did not get the drug support that he needed at a critical time to fight off the infection.

At the time of admission, my father was stable and maintained his oxygen level for 4 days and doctors were telling us that he is doing fine and is oriented and there's nothing to worry about.

Timeline:

Sun Nov’8 - Admitted to hospital and immediately admitted to ICU. He was oriented talking and was sick but not critical.

Mon Nov’9 - Oxygen level returned to normal on Hi-flow oxygen 96-99

Nov’10 - retained normal oxygen level on Hi-flow oxygen 96-99

Nov’11 - retained normal oxygen level on Hi-flow oxygen 96-99

Nov’12- we were informed that they have put him on a mechanical ventilator at 8:00 PM

Nov’13 - We were informed that he is stable and maintaining his oxygen level well. My mother was admitted to the hospital on this day as she also came COVID positive.

Nov’14 - he was pronounced dead at 2:AM early morning.

The lack of urgency shown by doctors in the hospital in administering the life-saving drug cost my father his life.

The hospital slack continued and the hospital showed the same carelessness in my mother's case. Her case was mild and she was not on external oxygen not even on IV fluid.

My mother was told on 17 that she would be released in a day or two from the hospital after her results of PCR test were negative and it would be by 19 that she would be released.

But the test results never came till the 23rd and we kept following up with them for the results. We ran out of our patience on the 23rd and then when we spoke to doctors they had no clue as to why the results have not arrived. They asked us to talk to sr management of the hospital, and when we pressurized them we came to know that the sample taken was not good and the test has to be performed again by taking the sample again. It took them 6 days to realize that the sample was not good. I only can imagine what treatment they would be given to patients.

We decided to get her released from the hospital and got her discharged on the same day on 23rd and getting her discharge was not easy, I had to tweet to @CMOfficeUP @DmMathura to get them to work on releasing my mother from the hospital

They only want to retain the patient in the hospital as long as they can so that they can continue to make money by billing you more and more. This is a very unfortunate situation where the hospital is trying to make money in such circumstances. They will bill you hugely and will make you bankrupt. Please stay away from this hospital.
