Nandi Hills is arguably the most popular spot in Bangalore. So on weekends, almost everyone in Bangalore drives to Nandi hills. You anticipate beautiful sunrise and a nice cup of tea on the hill top. But the traffic snales to the top covering 6 to 7 kilometers in 1 to 2 hours. Bikers snake between the stagnant four wheelers to get ahead. Hosts of people cick selfies at the edge of the road carelessly, which is a safety hazard. Buy the time you reach the top even the parking is full. A better way to reach the top is a short hike that has 1200 steps. Takes you around 30 to 40 minutes which is less than what it takes you by car. Hardly anyone uses it so it is peaceful. It is fairly green as well. But again once you reach the top, there is no respite from the crowds. Best time is to go on a weekday to avoid the rush.
