The Doctor was so pathetic and wrote so many unnecessary tests. I went to Dr.Ramesh.S at Manipal hospital for a check up for pain in my right knee.He asked me for some symptoms like cold, cough and fever. I said “NO”. He said there is some fluid kind of substance under my knee which is causing the pain and it has to be removed.
He asked me for some symptoms and told that it is related to Monoarthritis and asked me to do some tests. Even his voice also will not be audible to the patient He speaks with no clarity in his words. He doesn’t say anything to you and he tells to only his jr.doctor. the jr.Dr will write all the symptoms and tests etc and will hand over it to the Nurse. I didn’t get a chance to see what he has written in the prescription. The nurse doesn’t know what the tests that are written. I had to go down to the lab just to ask for the meaning of those tests.
The tests are
X-Ray for both right and left knee in two different positions.
CBC, ESR(Erythromycin Sedimentation Rate) tests
Urine R/E
Chest X-Ray(For which he told if there is an infection in the leg there may be infection in the lungs also)
Mantoux test(which will be used to diagnose Tuberculosis)
All the above tests will cost around Rs.1550/-.
At the end he gave me calpol 650 mg 3 tablets per day for 2 days telling that it will reduce the fever and cough. Even though I dint have fever he gave me a medicine for fever and told that calpol is also an effective pain killer. I told him that there is some kind of swelling(which I assumed by mistake) under the knee. He didn’t even check if it is swelling really or not.
NOTE: HE DIDN’T EVEN ASK ME TO GO TO AN ORTHOPEDIC FOR CONSULTAION.
Among all the tests mentioned above I need only the X-Ray to my right knee. All other tests are of no use.
He is the worst Doctor I have ever visited. Don’t go to him at all.
I later went to an orthopedic in VIMS hospital and with a simple test he diagnosed it to be a problem with the ligament. He listened to me very nicely and he asked me all the symptoms I have. He later asked me to lie down and did some basic tests like pressing the knee and asked me If I have pain. He told me some exercises and gave some medication. He also told me that if the problem persists after one month he told to consult again. He diagnosed my problem in just 5 mins without doing any tests and he also told that the swelling is just my assumption and there is no swelling under the knee. And after one month the pain got reduced and I no longer have that problem. Thanks to Dr.Sunil Gowda.
